Trauma & Somatic Experiencing
Trauma is something we all may experience throughout our lives. When we live through events that exceed our capacity to handle them, our nervous system reaches a state that cannot fully process the event, and therefore continues to hold the trauma within itself.
Somatic Experiencing® (SE), developed by Dr. Peter Levine, is a body-based approach that helps resolve and release the effects of trauma, stress, and shock held in the nervous system. Through integrating SE into our work together, I aim to support a gradual unwinding of these patterns—inviting more ease, resilience, and a sense of safety back into the body.
Anxiety
Anxiety is what we experience when we seek to control things outside of what is in our capabilities. Anxiety impacts us in our daily functioning, our relationships, and our careers. Anxiety can cause physical concerns through toxic stress, impacting physical functioning. I integrate biofeedback and mindfulness to address the roots of anxiety and how they may be impacting your life.
Life Transitions
Even well-intentioned life changes can be unsettling. Transitions often bring uncertainty, grief, and a sense of instability. In counseling, I support you in processing what you’re currently experiencing while gently orienting toward what’s emerging. Together, we work to help you feel more grounded, resourced, and connected to yourself as you move through change.
Grief & Loss
Grief does not follow a timeline, and it often touches more than just sadness; it can impact identity, relationships, spirituality, and a sense of safety in the world.
In session, I offer a compassionate space to explore your grief at your own pace, supporting you in making room for what has been lost while gently reconnecting you with yourself and your life.
Depression
Depression can be a brief experience, or a long-term pattern that does not allow us to feel the fullness of emotions we would ideally like to in our lives. Either way, depression can be debilitating to us and our loved ones from the effort it takes to manage the pain depression often brings.
When working with depression in sessions, we will work to discover and reconnect different parts that may be disconnected from yourself, leading to fuller experiences of your life.
